"MPs demand reading lessons review" - Click here 7 April 2005

The Government has now admitted that a high percentage of children are not achieving the required national standards in reading.  It is also a fact however that the majority of children could read dramatically better.  This will improve their confidence and give them a competitive advantage in all aspects of their education and in every subject.

The Commons Education Select Committee report in April 2005 has, according to Louise Nyman the founder of Read UK "left parents wondering whether or not their child is fulfilling their potential and has reminded parents that they have to take responsibility to ensure that their child is not one of the many who are being left behind through no fault of their own". Ruth Kelly who was the Secretary for Education at the time said in March 2006 - "I am clear that synthetic phonics should be the first strategy in teaching all children to read."  The Rose Report which advocates synthetic phonics is now being implemented nationwide.

The method has been featured on ITV's "Tonight with Trevor McDonald", BBC's 'Just one chance' documentary, in the Daily Telegraph, The Times and the Daily Mail.  More and more teachers are turning to phono-graphix™ in order to improve standards.
